Mechanism Of Action Of Ticagrelor 90 Mg Tablets

• Ticagrelor is a P2Y12 platelet inhibitor used in patients with a history of myocardial infarction or with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) to prevent future myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular death.

Therapeutic Indications Of Brilinta 90 Mg Tablets

• Ticagrelor is a medication that belongs to a class known as “antiplatelets”. it acts by preventing platelets (blood cells that help with blood clotting) from aggregating together and causing an artery blockage by forming a clot.
• It is used to treat patients who have had a heart attack or severe chest pain that occurred due to a lack of oxygen delivered to their heart. This medicine is used to decrease the chance of developing heart attacks or dying from stroke or a heart attack.
• It is used with aspirin to decrease your chance of having another serious heart or blood vessels problem (e.g. stroke, heart attack, or blood clots in your stent) which may be fatal.

Method Of Administration Of Brilinta 90 Mg Tablets

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Your doctor will determine how many tablets you need to take and when to take them.
• Take with or without food.
• Take your doses at the same time every day.
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

Undesirable Side Effects Of Brilinta 90 Mg Tablets

• Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
• Bleeding (e.g. easy bruising and bleeding, nose bleeds, delayed wound healing, and delayed blood clotting).
• Dyspnea (difficulty breathing).
• Contact your healthcare provider if you experience any side effects. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms:

1. Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
2. Signs of serious bleeding, like severe bleeding, bleeding that you cannot control, pink, brown, or red urine, coughing up blood or blood clots, vomiting blood or vomit that looks like “coffee grounds”, black or red stools or stools that look like tar.

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• Your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Brilinta 90 Mg Tablets

• You should not use ticagrelor if you have any active bleeding or a history of bleeding in the brain. Do not use ticagrelor just before heart bypass surgery.
• Ticagrelor may cause you to bleed more easily, which can be severe or life-threatening. Call your doctor or seek emergency medical attention if you have bleeding that will not stop, black or bloody stools, red or pink urine, or if you cough up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds.
• Tell your doctor about all your current medicines and any you start or stop using. Many drugs can interact with ticagrelor.
• Do not stop taking ticagrelor without first talking to your doctor, even if you have signs of bleeding. Stopping ticagrelor may increase your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
• You should not use ticagrelor if you are allergic to it, or if you have: any active bleeding; or a history of bleeding in the brain (such as from a head injury).

• Do not use this product after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label.
